About the Event

A Rising Tide lifts all vaka is an info day for Pacific Islands screen artists aimed at demystifying the NZ On Air funding process, contracts and protecting your intellectual property. If you have never applied for NZ on Air funding or maybe you are still unsure about how it works - then this is for you.

Knowledge is power - and we want you to power your screen journey. No more guess work, no more assumptions, no more “...but I heard from so and so…”. It is time for you to have all your questions answered directly and to evaporate your uncertainty around funding from NZ on Air.

This is a full day event that will allow you to hear from NZ on Air about who they are, development funding and the best way to approach building your proposals and applications.

(Nb: we will not be covering Production funding in depth - as the scope of that topic is too much for one day - and is best covered once you understand the fundamentals of the funding process - which is what this event is about.)

We will provide lunch on the day so you only have to worry about filling your mind.

This info day will be facilitated by Co-founding Komiti member and Writer & Director Stallone Vaiaoga-Ioasa (Three Wise Cousins, Hibiscus & Ruthless, Take Home Pay, Mama's Music Box) and include:

Guest Speakers:

  • NICOLE REX - NZ On Air Senior Funding Advisor/Kaitohu Kaupapahere Pūtea
  • STEVEN GANNAWAY - NZ On Air Funding Advisor - Development | Kaitohutohu Pūtea – Whakawhanake
  • ALICE SHEARMAN - NZ Writers Guild Executive Director
  • + more to be announced.
