About the Event
Programme Overview:
The Moana Pasifika Producers Development Initiative is an initiative funded by the New Zealand Film Commission that aims to provide emerging Moana Pasifika screen producers with the skills, knowledge, and networks to develop and produce compelling content for New Zealand's screen industry. Our vision is to implement impactful change to New Zealand’s screen sector by increasing and developing the number of competent Pacific Islands creative practitioners. Through a series of consecutive fono, coupled with a 4-month mentorship, participants will cover the producer-specific knowledge to upskill and springboard their careers, enabling them to better understand, safely navigate and feel confident to contribute to New Zealand’s screen sector.
Eligibility Criteria:
- This Development initiative is open to applications from emerging Moana Pasifika Screen producers
- You must be based in New Zealand
- You must be able to commit to the programmes full dates
Given the initiative is producer-specific, we encourage applications from individuals with a screen producing focussed practice or background and in the emerging space.
Definitions
With regards to this initiative, by definition ‘emerging’ encompasses all individuals who have produced short form content for screen, online or social media platforms. This includes both formally funded settings, like Kōpere Hou - Fresh Shorts, and equally, informal spaces not limited to 48 Hours, University short film projects, and/or passion projects. If you’re unsure please send us an email or attend our Q&A (Details below).
