Turou! Turou! PISA Rarotonga is proud to present an exclusive intimate event at Gallery Tavioni in Rarotonga, Kūki ‘Āirani with film and documentary producer, director, and writer, Tearepa Kahi (Iwi: Ngāti Pāoa, Waikato | Waka: Tainui).
This is a free event for PISA members and all indigenous Kuki ‘Āirani / Pasifika screen artists working or aspiring to work in film, TV, media, visual arts, gaming, VR, and animation. Please RSVP using the link below.
About the Event
PISA Rarotonga is proud to present our first event of 2024 in Rarotonga, Kūki ‘Āirani this January with filmmaker, Tearepa Kahi.
Tearepa Kahi has written and directed award winning documentaries and films over his extensive screen career. Tearepa has written, directed and produced a slate of films including Mt Zion, starring Stan Walker — the most successful NZ local cinema release of 2012, two feature-length music documentaries: acclaimed, Moa-nominated Poi E: The Story of Our Song in 2016, and Herbs – Songs of Freedom in 2019. Other credits include Hunt for the Wilderpeople, Taua – War Party and The Speaker, and most recently, Muru (2023) which won the UNESCO Award at the Asia Pacific Screen Awards (APSA) and was Aotearoa’s official submission for Best International Feature Film Academy Award 2023.
