In 2021, she won SPADA New Filmmaker of the Year. Her animated documentary, Only Human, has amassed over 350k views online.
Mia recently wrote for anthology feature film Kāinga, the third film in the trilogy of Waru and Vai, which has gone on to screen at NZIFF, MIFF, and HIFF.
