PISA Writers' Room - Synopsis + Treatment with Victor Rodger

Our second Writer's Room for 2024 will be in Ōtautahi  (Christchurch) will be led by award winning writer Victor Rodger ONZM (Sons, My Name is Gary Cooper). The topic of focus for this Writer's Room will be: Synopsis and Treatments

• What is a Synopsis? How to write one, when to write on - common mistakes - especially for a short film application.

• What is a Treatment? How to write one - read examples of one - what do you notice about tone of a treatment and how it summarizes the script?

A Synopsis and Treatment are key parts of the creation process for screen and a requirement for many, if not all applications for funding and proposals. We will look at what each one requires and how to craft them to be effective in capturing your story and be engaging for the reader.
