Pacific Islands Screen Artists (PISA) has an exciting opportunity just for you!
Programme Overview:
The Moana Pasifika Producers Development Initiative is an initiative funded by the New Zealand Film Commission that aims to provide emerging Moana Pasifika screen producers with the skills, knowledge, and networks to develop and produce compelling content for New Zealand's screen industry. Our vision is to implement impactful change to New Zealand’s screen sector by increasing and developing the number of competent Pacific Islands creative practitioners. Through a series of consecutive fono, coupled with a 4-month mentorship, participants will cover the producer-specific knowledge to upskill and springboard their careers, enabling them to better understand, safely navigate and feel confident to contribute to New Zealand’s screen sector.

The value of your brand

The bones of your project, from development to delivery

Screen products, with a particular focus on short form

Key pathways in the screen sector

Proposals and how to effectively communicate your project
Programme Dates:
Fono dates: 28th, 29th, 30th June 2024
Mentorship: August - November 2024 (x4 online sessions)
Fee: There are zero application or programme fees associated with the Moana Pasifika Producers Development Initiative. This programme is fully funded by the NZ Film Commission. Note: Travel assistance will be available for participants based outside of Auckland, if needed.

Open to emerging Moana Pasifika Screen producers

Must be based in New Zealand

Must be able to commit to the programmes full dates
Given the initiative is producer-specific, we encourage applications from individuals with a screen producing focussed practice or background and in the emerging space.
Definitions:
With regards to this initiative, by definition ‘emerging’ encompasses all individuals who have produced short form content for screen, online or social media platforms. This includes both formally funded settings, like Kōpere Hau - Fresh Shorts, and equally, informal spaces not limited to 48 Hours, University short film projects, and/or passion projects. How to Apply:
To apply for the programme, please fill out and complete this form to submit your application. The required application information includes:

A brief biography outlining your experience and background in screen production.

A project proposal (max 2 pages) for a short form screen project you are currently developing or planning to develop.

A 2 min video statement explaining why you should be selected for this programme).

Limited to one application per person.
Application Deadline:
Sunday 26th May, 2024, 5pm (NZT)
Selection Process:
Applicants will be selected based on their experience (2 points), statement of intent (2 points) and proposal (1 point). Successful applicants will be notified from Monday 10th June, 2024.
